How It HappenedLebanon Valley's offense overwhelmed Hood with a 20-7 win in their Commonwealth Conference opener to push their winning streak to three games.
The Dutchmen (5-4, 1-0 CC) received four goals from
Sam Boyce, two goals and four assists by
Bailey Benz, and
Kirsten Bannan's first career hat trick as they outshot Hood 47-20 and forced the Blazers (2-4, 0-1 CC) into 24 turnovers.
LVC led 10-2 at halftime after scoring the first six goals of the game. Hood had four goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half, but LVC shut the door with six straight over a 10-minute span, holding the home team scoreless for nearly 16 minutes in the second half.
Notables- Senior defender
Morgan Heller did something she hadn't done in 61 career appearances - score a goal. Heller tallied late in the game from
Jenny Simensky, and was joined by defensive partner
Emily Moatz on the score sheet.
- Bannan's hat trick also represented the first collegiate goals for the freshman.
- LVC had 12 different goal scorers overall.
- Benz's four assists take her career total to 135, now three shy of the program record of 138 owned by Hana Krechel '13.

Sam Boyce ran her multi-goal game streak to eight with four at Hood, and has scored 12 in her last three games.

Shelby Morris became the second goalkeeper in program history to earn 20 career wins, joining Erica Ameigh '13 (25). Morris had five saves in the first half;
Mikayla Freed saw her first career action in the second, making a stop.
