How It HappenedLebanon Valley overcame a first-half deficit with a seven-goal run to beat Susquehanna, 15-11, in their non-conference finale in Selinsgrove.
The Dutchmen (4-4) received five goals from
Sam Boyce and four goals and three assists from
Bailey Benz, and dominated the circle with 22 draw controls, paced by
Emily Moatz (7 DC) and
Emma Jones (6 DC).
After spotting Susquehanna a 4-1 lead to start the game, LVC reeled off the next seven goals, with Boyce and Benz playing a role in all but
Jenny Simensky's unassisted strike to start the run. Susquehanna scored to end the half and trail 8-5, but LVC put room in the game with goals by
Anna Pagels, Benz,
Nikki Lloyd, and Jones to start the second and lead 12-5.
The Dutchmen cooled off late in the game as the Crusaders tried to mount a comeback, but LVC's lead was too much despite the home team scoring five of the game's last six goals.
Notables - Shots were a relatively even 28-25, but LVC was helped by the hot play of

- Boyce's hat trick was her fifth of the season, while Benz handed out three assists for the third time this season.
- Leading 22-6, LVC's draw control total was only two short of the program record. Moatz's seven controls were a career high.
- Susquehanna combined Alyssa Rothman and Carolyn Figiola, with Rothman stopping one shot in the loss.
- LVC was 4-for-7 on free-position shots; five of Susquehanna's 11 goals game from the 8-meter arc as they shot 5-for-8.
