Big Second Half Lifts LVC Past Meredith, 12-7

How It Happened
Lebanon Valley held Meredith to two goals in the second half to break a 5-5 halftime tie and win, 12-7, in their first-ever spring break trip to Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Dutchmen beat the defending USA South champion and 2014 NCAA Tournament participant Avenging Angels (1-1) in a back-and-forth game that featured four ties and three lead changes.

A key 3-1 run in the middle of the second half featuring two goals from Bailey Benz and Tori Kuntz's third tally broke the tie and put LVC in control up 9-7 at the period's midpoint. Another Kuntz goal followed by Jenny Simensky's strike set the Dutchmen comfortably up 11-7 in the closing minutes, and a late Emma Jones goal put the icing on the cake.

In the first half, LVC got off to a quick 3-1 start on goals by Kuntz, Sam Boyce, and Nikki Lloyd, but Meredith reeled off three straight to lead 4-3 before Alyse Bingham and Boyce gave LVC the lead back. Meredith scored with five seconds left in the half to tie it 5-5.
