How It HappenedShenandoah took a quick 3-0 lead before
Sam Boyce score the first of her three goals late 21:28 into the game, and
Emma Jones and
Anna Pagels added first-half markers before SU's Cortney Gensemer hit twice in the final 2:57 of the half to give the Hornets (1-1) a 6-3 halftime lead.
Shenandoah extended its lead to 8-4 early in the second despite Boyce's goal from
Jenny Simensky, but the Dutchmen rallied with gooals by
Alyse Bingham and Boyce before Jones scored with 1:38 left to cut the lead to 8-7.
Pagels won the ensuing draw control but her shot went wide, and Shenandoah earned possession and hung on to win.
Notables- It was a tale of two halves as Shenandoah led 6-3 at halftime having outshot the Dutchmen 18-7; after the break, however, LVC turned it around to outshoot the hosts 13-6 with a 4-2 scoring advantage. Shenandoah led shots 24-20 overall.

Shelby Morris made nine saves for LVC, and Rachel Levy had a solid 10-save outing to earn the win for the Hornets.
- Transition play hurt LVC in the first half, going 5-for-10 on clears but improving to 8-for-11 after the break. SU was 15-of-19 for the game.
