How It HappenedIn Lebanon Valley's regular season finale, the Dutchmen took care of business against Stevenson and defeated the Mustangs 3-1. LVC ended the regular season with an 8-9, 5-3 MAC COM mark, while Stevenson fell to 5-12-1, 2-6 MAC COM.
Youseff Ouayakhaf first got the Dutchmen on the board in the 31st minute when
Matt Prince crossed th ball and Ouayakhaf didn't miss to give LVC a 1-0 lead. Just over seven minutes later,
Ian McGinnis netted his fourth of the year when
Tyler Skye gave McGinnis the ball after a scramble in front and Mcginnis took advantage to make it 2-0.
After the Dutchmen held the same 2-0 advantage going into halftime,
Jake Herron netted an insurance goal off of a penalty kick to make it 3-0. The Mustangs added a goal late, but LVC eventually went on to win 3-1.
Inside the Numbers - The Dutchmen totaled 17 shots, 10 of which were on net, while the Mustangs had 18 shots and eight on net.
- Stevenson held the edge in corner kicks at 8-2, while
Cam Avery and R. Callinan each recorded seven saves.
A Date with Messiah AwaitsLVC clinched the No. 3 seed in the MAC Commonwealth Championship tonight and heads to Messiah on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. matchup. The Falcons downed the Dutchmen 4-2 earlier this season in Grantham.
