ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College volleyball will continue its relationship with the Special Olympics on Wednesday night, Oct. 8. LVC hosts Albright at Sorrentino Gymnasium at 7 p.m. and during the break between the second and third sets, Special Olympians will participate in a match.
For fans of the Flying Dutchmen, this is an opportunity to support LVC volleyball and the Special Olympics. There will be a donation box at the entrance of Sorrentino Gymnasium and fans are encouraged to contribute. The donations will be presented to the Special Olympics' athletes at the end of the night.
Lebanon Valley College has a long partnership with the organization and was named the 2009 Pennsylvania Special Olympics School of the Year for its extensive work with the Lebanon County Special Olympics. LVC volleyball itself has created a connection with the group through a service project and looks forward to seeing them again. NCAA Division III and the Special Olympics also have a national partnership, aiming to foster a mutual learning experience between Division III student-athletes and Special Olympics athletes.
