Box Score 2 CORTLAND, N.Y. - Lebanon Valley fought through a pair of five-set matches, splitting on their second day at the Cortland Red Dragon Classic.

Greta Weidemoyer's career-high 21 kills led the Dutchmen (3-1) to a 3-2 (18-25, 25-20, 25-18, 24-26, 15-10) win over Cortland in the morning before they pushed Richard Stockton to the brink in a 3-2 (25-20, 14-25, 16-25, 25-16, 14-16) loss later in the day.
Against Cortland and a loud home-court advantage, LVC rallied back from a set down thanks to inspired defense. Weidemoyer stuffed six assist blocks and
Alli Quirk three, while
Kacey Musselman's 12 digs and 43 assists matched with
Emily Sides' 11 digs. The team spread out their hitting, with
Kayla Confer throwing down 12 kills and Quirk 10.
Against Stockton,
Allie Garrett's 19 digs led a defense that kept LVC in the match against a bigger lineup. Weidemoyer notched 15 kills and Confer 12, while Sides (13 digs) and
Rachel Moltz (12 digs) aided defensively. LVC rallied back from a deficit to tie the fifth set 14-14, but Stockton served out to clinch the match.
Lebanon Valley will debut at home next weekend, hosting the Rumble in the Valley tournament Sept. 5-6.
