ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's lacrosse team completed a shutout for the first time in modern program history, blanking Hood on Wednesday evening, 18-0.

The Valley jumped all over the Blazers from start to finish, taking an 11-0 lead into the halftime break and never looking back. LVC notched seven tallies in the second to push the final to 18-0.

The lopsided score line gave the opportunity for goals from unlikely Valley players as senior defender Sara Vanderbogart posted her first career goal and sophomore Alyse Bingham tallied her second career marker and first of the season.

Sophomore Sam Boyce led the attack with four goals and three assists for seven points on the day. Junior Bailey Benz, second in the nation in points and first in assists, chipped in with two goals and three assists, while senior Mel Modrick recorded two goals and two assists, and junior Anna Pagels added a goal and three assists.

Sophomore Shelby Morris had a quiet night in the cage as Hood was only able to manage one shot on goal that sailed high, giving Morris the shutout win without having to make a save. On the other side, Hood's Lauren Couch did her best to handle an onslaught of Valley shots, making 16 saves in the loss.

The Dutchmen held a 41-1 shot advantage for the game and also enjoyed edges in ground balls (28-8) and draw controls (14-5). Additionally, the defensive effort was noticed for the Valley in Hood's clearing numbers as they converted just three of their 19 clear attempts.

Next up for the Valley is a trip to Williamsport on Wednesday for a meeting with Lycoming at 4 p.m.
