OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson scored twice in the second half to break a tie game and win, 5-3, over Lebanon Valley in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Semifinals.
The Dutchmen end the season at 15-5 as the Mustangs (14-7) avenged their regular-season loss to LVC.
Molly Van Leuvan scored twice, while
Lauren Brumbach had a goal and an assist for LVC.
The home team flew out to a 2-0 lead on early goals by Rosemarie Neiva and Alison Kagel, but LVC quickly equalized and went ahead with three in a row. Brumbach fired home at 21:21, then Van Leuvan tipped
Brittany Fleisher's pass to level the game at 24:49. A penalty corner generated LVC's third strike as Van Leuvan deflected to the far post off assists by Brumbach and
Maddie Fox, but the Mustangs scored again before the half as Caitlin Dempsey finished a corner to make it 3-3 at the break.
Stevenson went ahead 1:03 into the second half with Holli Eppley's goal, and Dempsey's second at 54:30 provided the insurance.
Stevenson led 14-12 on shots while the Dutchmen held an 11-8 corner advantage.
Kendra Moll made four saves; Gabriella Brooks had six for SU.
Megan Arnst added a defensive save for The Valley.
