#16 Lebanon Valley Routs Albright, 9-1

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lyndee Sheaffer scored four times to lead a rout of Albright as #16 Lebanon Valley rolled 9-1 in Commonwealth Conference play.

The Dutchmen (10-1, 2-0 CC) dominated the game from the start, scoring three goals in the opening 11 minutes and never looking back. Lauren Brumbach and Maddie Fox each had a pair of goals, and freshman Tricia Martin added the first of her career.

It was Lebanon Valley's biggest conference win since 2010 when it beat Albright 8-0, as the Dutchmen extended their winning streak over the Reading school to 26 in a row dating back to 1985.

Lebanon Valley led 25-5 on shots and 11-2 on penalty corners. Kendra Moll made one save - stoning a breakaway - to earn the win, and Sarah DiMaggio had a stop in 16:51 of relief. Gabby Frake made 10 saves for Albright.

Fox generated LVC's first goal, slamming a shot off Frake's pads that fell to Sheaffer at 3:18, and Fox tipped another rebound five minutes later to make it 2-0. Sheaffer added her second on the run at 10:28, taking a quick shot inside the arc to the far post to force an Albright timeout.

The Lions answered back with a penalty corner goal at 22:29 despite Kristen Garman's effort to stop it at the line. Less than 30 seconds later, the Dutchmen negated the goal as Sheaffer finished her hat trick with a redirection of Kelsey Heck's pass. The junior made it four goals at 29:35 when she potted Martin's cross from the right, and Martin got into the scoring action just before halftime when she tipped Rachel Gorman's knockdown off a corner.

Lauren Brumbach opened the second half with a nasty riser in off the post at 41:32 before Fox made it 8-1 with a high shot at 43:38. Brumbach capped the win with a lift from Kristen Garman on a penalty corner with 1:58 remaining.

The Dutchmen will host #13 Messiah on Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. as part of Homecoming weekend.
