SCRANTON, Pa. – A Scranton goal in the 30th minute proved to be enough to take care of the Lebanon Valley women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon, 1-0.

Scranton's Christina Akalski was able to beat her defender down the middle of the field and send her shot past the right side of LVC goalkeeper Becca Sykes for the lone goal of the contest.

LVC did not allow a corner kick in the game and held a 16-7 shot advantage, but couldn't get the ball past Scranton goalkeeper Kelsy McAnelly, who made four saves on the day.

Seniors Lindi Crist and Heather Tran, along with junior Amanda Douglass, led the way offensively with three shots apiece, while seniors Jess Kleeschulte and Sarah Wannlund added two shots each and seniors Allison Korns, Taylor Saraiva, and Katie Deardorff tallied one shot apiece.

Next up for the Valley is a meeting with Marywood tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.
