DALLAS, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision to No. 11 Misericordia on Wednesday evening.
The lone LVC goal was an unassisted marker from senior Katie Deardorff in the 13th minute to tie the game up at one. From there, however, the Cougars rattled off four straight goals to put the Dutchmen away and send them their first loss of the season.
Despite the lopsided scoreline, the Valley did hold up well in the statistical categories, tying Misericordia in shots with 19 and holding an 8-4 corner advantage.
Between the pipes, senior Becca Sykes posted her first loss of the year, saving seven shots. For the Cougars, Maureen Ciccosanti recorded eight saves.
Junior Amanda Douglass led the attack with six shots and four shots on goal, while freshman Sammy Bost tallied four shots and one shot on goal. Additionally, seniors Jess Kleeschulte and Taylor Saraiva each notched two shots apiece.
Next up for the Valley is a road matchup with Scranton on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
