WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's soccer team brought its top offensive form to Wilkes-Barre on Saturday afternoon, routing King's, 4-0.

Senior Sarah Dowhower opened the scoring in the 13th minute as a defensive mistake in the box allowed the ball to find Dowhower's foot, who buried it in the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. Just 16 minutes later, freshman Sammy Bost and senior Katie Deardorff linked up for the second score of the contest.

Deardorff, making a run down the side of the field, was able to fit a pass around the King's goalkeeper right to the instep of Bost, who slotted it in goal.

The Valley took the 2-0 lead into the halftime break and played with a conservative approach for the majority of the second half. Late scoring broke it open as two long shots from senior Heather Tran and classmate Lindi Crist in the 72nd and 76th minutes beat the keeper on the high side to push the final score to 4-0.

Senior goalkeeper Becca Sykes had a quiet clean sheet, with zero saves on the day in just under 80 minutes of play. LVC held a 23-7 edge in shots and a 4-2 advantage in corner-kick opportunities.

With the win, the Dutchmen move to 5-3-2 on the year and King's falls to 4-3-1.

Next up for the Valley is a trip to Grantham, Pa. to take on No. 10 Messiah in its conference opener on Saturday evening at 5 p.m.
