DALLAS, Pa. – The Misericordia defense held the Dutchmen to just five shots as the Valley dropped its second loss of the year on Wednesday evening, 2-0.
Misericordia's George Stock connected with Chris Edkins and David Malaquias for the first tally of the game in the 35th minute to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead, a tally that would hold into the halftime break.
Misericordia didn't take long in the second half to earn some insurance as Edkins notched a tally of his own in the 50th minute. An initial shot was saved by LVC senior goalkeeper
James Clements, however Edkins got a foot on the rebound, pushing the score to 2-0.
Clements, despite allowing two goals, made nine saves in the contest, facing 17 shots. The Cougars also held the edge in corner-kick opportunities, 4-2.
