DALLAS, Pa. – The Misericordia defense held the Dutchmen to just five shots as the Valley dropped its second loss of the year on Wednesday evening, 2-0.

Misericordia's George Stock connected with Chris Edkins and David Malaquias for the first tally of the game in the 35th minute to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead, a tally that would hold into the halftime break.

Misericordia didn't take long in the second half to earn some insurance as Edkins notched a tally of his own in the 50th minute. An initial shot was saved by LVC senior goalkeeper James Clements, however Edkins got a foot on the rebound, pushing the score to 2-0.

Clements, despite allowing two goals, made nine saves in the contest, facing 17 shots. The Cougars also held the edge in corner-kick opportunities, 4-2.

Junior Kevin Doty, freshman Josh Ferguson, senior Garth Stefan, freshman Alex Detweiler, and junior Kyle Fronk were the players with shots posted for the Dutchmen.

LVC returns to action on Saturday when it takes on DeSales in Center Valley at 3:30 p.m.
