Lebanon Valley 19, Widener 7
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Four different Dutchmen recorded hat tricks as Lebanon Valley's offense carried it in a 19-7 rout of Widener on Wednesday night.
The Dutchmen (6-2, 1-1 CC) ran out to a quick 10-1 lead, outshooting the Pride (4-5, 0-2 CC) 34-17 and dominating draws 18-9.
Mel Modrick scored five goals,
Hana Krechel had four goals and four assists, and
Bailey Benz had three and three.
Sam Boyce had a hat trick with an assist.
Anna Pagels,
Tori Kuntz,
Jenny Simensky, and
Morgan Maier also had goals as Lebanon Valley tied the program record for goals in a game. Benz and Krechel combined for the first three goals of the game, and after Widener scored man-up, LVC went on a seven-goal tear to lead 10-1 midway through the first half on the way to a 13-5 halftime lead.
LVC outscored Widener 6-2 in the second half as they slowed things down, including the final four goals of the game.
Erica Ameigh (1 save) and
Shelby Morris (3 saves) split halves for LVC, while Megan Dunn stopped eight for Widener.
Morgan Heller had four caused turnovers to lead another good night by the Valley defense, which held Widener to just 8-for-18 on clears and induced 19 turnovers.
The Dutchmen visit Hood on Saturday.
