Lebanon Valley 18, Lycoming 8

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley routed Lycoming 18-8 on Senior Night at Arnold Field as the program said goodbye to its 2013 senior class.

The Dutchmen (10-3, 5-2 CC) set a program record for wins in a season on the evening they honored the seven women who make up the first four-year class since the program was re-established in 2010. Allison McGinniss, Kristen Rooney, Suzanne Sullivan, Hana Krechel, Chloe Gunther, Jen Strack, and Erica Ameigh were honored pre-game for their contributions towards helping establish LVC women's lacrosse as a winner.

The win sets up an important game at Elizabethtown on Saturday in the regular-season finale. Both teams, at 5-2 in Commonwealth Conference play, have qualified for the CC tournament, but the winner will secure the #3 seed and semifinal berth, avoiding having to play the 4/5 play-in game next Tuesday.

Krechel scored six goals with three assists, taking her career points total to 381 and cracking the NCAA Division III all-time top 10. Sullivan had a terrific senior night with a goal, three assists, and three caused turnovers, while Mel Modrick and Sam Boyce each had hat tricks. McGinniss, Anna Pagels, Bailey Benz, and Taylor Kruter all added goals.

LVC controlled the game from start to finish, outshooting the Warriors 33-19 overall and 27-8 in the first half. Lycoming was held to just 8-of-15 clear attempts by the LVC midfield, which set up multiple first-half scoring chances in transition.

The Dutchmen scored the game's first four goals, then added 5-0 and 4-0 runs later in the half to take a commanding 15-3 lead at halftime. Erica Ameigh had eight saves for LVC to improve to 10-2 this season, a program record for goalie wins. Lauren Reitnouer had seven stops for Lyco, which was led offensively by Amber Graybill and Maureen Heagy with two goals each.

Lebanon Valley travels to Elizabethtown Saturday to end the regular season.
