#14 Messiah 15, Lebanon Valley 12

GRANTHAM, Pa. - Lebanon Valley mounted a late comeback attempt, but their rally fell short as #14 Messiah held on for a 15-12 win.

The Dutchmen (9-3, 4-2 CC) fell behind 10-4 to start the second half after four straight Falcon goals, but a 4-0 run in response put them back in the game. Despite the loss, LVC still managed to clinch a Commonwealth Conference tournament berth thanks to Albright's loss to Elizabethtown on Saturday.

LVC played the Falcons (8-6, 5-1 CC) evenly all game long, with Messiah leading 30-26 on shots but holding an 18-11 advantage on draw controls. Anna Pagels, Sam Boyce, and Hana Krechel each had three goals, including Krechel's 250th career strike.

Messiah led 6-4 at halftime, but broke the game with a four-goal run over the first four minutes of the second half to lead 10-4. LVC answered back with four of their own, however, as Pagels and Bailey Benz struck before Boyce had a pair to cut the lead to two. Unfortunately, the Dutchmen would never get closer than that as Messiah matched them goal-for-goal the rest of the way.

Erica Ameigh did well to keep LVC in the game, making 10 saves. Taylor Phillips had eight stops to pick up the win.

LVC returns home Tuesday for senior night, hosting Lycoming at 5 p.m.
