Messiah College 3, Lebanon Valley College 2 (25-17, 23-25, 25-17, 23-25, 10-15) (Commonwealth Conference Semifinal)
ANNVILLE, Pa. – In the only five-set match inside LVC Gymnasium this season, #3 Messiah outlasted #2 Lebanon Valley in the Commonwealth Conference Semifinals on Wednesday evening in Annville.
After winning the first set easily, 25-17, the Valley dropped a close second game with a score of 25-23. In the third, the Valley were excellent, rattling off 11 of 13 points midway through the set and coming away with the 25-17 set victory to take the 2-1 lead.
In a point-for-point fourth set, Messiah came out on top to force a fifth in a 25-23 win. The fifth was controlled by the Falcons as they held the lead throughout the set, with an 8-5 advantage at the changeover. Messiah went on to take the game, 15-10, and the match 3-2.
With the win, the Falcons move on to face top-seeded Stevenson on Saturday in the Commonwealth Conference Final. Stevenson took care of Elizabethtown in three sets, 25-15, 25-15, and 25-22 on Wednesday evening.

Sarah Godfrey chipped in with seven apiece.

Kacey Musselman posted a double-double with 42 assists and 16 digs, adding six kills, an ace, and a block assist to round out her stat line. Sophomore
Allie Garrett was the leader defensively with 17 digs, while sophomore
Alli Quirk posted two block solos and Confer ripped off five service aces.
Messiah's Kristen Douglas led all attackers with 22 kills and Jane Underman was right behind her with 17 kills in the match.
