Lebanon Valley College 3, Albright College 1 (20-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-11)

READING, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley volleyball team fought to a four-set victory over Albright in Reading on Tuesday evening, 20-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-11.

This match was about facing adversity as LVC did not have its top form, but was able to pull out the win in the end. Dropping the opening set, the Valley came back with a 25-20 win in the second to tie the match at one apiece.

In the third, the Dutchmen worked to a 24-19 lead, but allowed Albright to come back and tie it up at 25 all. However, they regrouped and were able to notch back-to-back points to take the third, 27-25, and use that momentum to cruise in the fourth, 25-11.

Junior Kacey Musselman was excellent in the match, leading the squad with 34 assists and tallying 10 kills on 13 attacks with two errors for a .615 hitting percentage.

"Kacey had a stellar match and was the main reason we were able to come away with the victory," head coach Wayne Perry said. "She ran down everything and threw them off their game with her play in the middle."

Freshman Greta Weidemoyer was her usual self with 13 kills and just two errors leading the attack, while sophomore Alli Quirk added seven kills offensively. Sophomore Allie Garrett picked up 28 digs for the back line and Weidemoyer and Quirk combined for eight block assists at the net.

With the win, the Valley moves to 20-3 on the year and remains unbeaten in Commonwealth Conference play at 6-0.

Next up for LVC is a meeting with Lycoming on Oct. 16 inside LVC Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
