Lebanon Valley 6, Hood 0
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley stayed unbeaten in Commonwealth Conference play with a dominating 6-0 win over Hood Saturday night at Arnold Field.
The Dutchmen (7-6, 3-0 CC) ran their winning streak to four games as they outshot the Blazers (3-10, 0-4 CC) by a 37-1 margin. LVC, playing on Oktoberfest Weekend, retired the #3 jersey of NCAA all-time scoring leader Jocelyn Novak '12 before the game, and wore special pink uniforms in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Melissa Brosious scored twice, and
Lyndee Sheaffer,
Megan Arnst,
Lauren Brumbach, and
Rachel Youngs all had goals for the Dutchmen, who also led 24-3 on corners. LVC led 2-0 inside of five minutes after Brosious finished a corner off Brumbach's hit from the arc and Sheaffer picked a ball out of a scrum. Arnst buried a rebound at the post at the 6:40 mark, and Brumbach made it 4-0 with her sixth goal of the year at 9:21.
Brosious made it 5-0 with a redirect of
Kelsey Heck's hit at 26:31, and Youngs capped the win with her first career goal, a redirection off a sprawling save attempt by goalie Ying Van Schaik.
LVC combined three goalies -
Chloe Baro,
Kendra Moll, and
Leeca Baran - in the shutout with none having to make a save and Baro earning the win. Van Schaik had 18 saves for Hood.
Lebanon Valley will host Widener Tuesday night.
