Dutchmen Split on Final Day of Dickinson Invitational

CARLISLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley (6-3) split its final day at the Dickinson Invitational Saturday with an early sweep over York (25-13, 25-20, 25-22) and a 3-1 loss (26-24, 8-25, 14-25, 20-25) to Michigan-Dearborn in the late match.
 
Kellsie Groff led the Dutchman attack with 18 total kills, including 13 against York (2-7). Kacey Musselman led the defense with 23 total digs, including 16 in the first match.
 
Offensively against York, kills leaders included Groff (13), Megan Schoch (8), and Sarah Godfrey (6). Musselman finished the match with 34 assists and two aces. Groff and Jess Finlayson also had two aces each.
 
Defensively, Musselman's 16 digs were tops, followed by Groff (11), Allie Garrett (10), and Emily Sides (10).
 
The Dutchmen opened their match with Michigan-Dearborn (6-2) with a set win before suffering three straight losses. Alli Quirk and Kayla Confer shared the team lead with seven kills each. Godfrey and Groff both added five kills. Musselman had 27 assists.
 
Sides led the defense with 10 digs, followed by Groff (8), Musselman (7), and Garrett (7).
 
The Dutchmen open at home Tuesday with a conference match against Messiah at 7 p.m.
