HAVERFORD, Pa. – Nicole Snyder scored her sixth and seventh goals of the season in a 3-2 loss at #25 Haverford Wednesday night. Both goals served as equalizers for Lebanon Valley, who played from behind from the fourth minute on.
Haverford (7-1) took an early lead on a goal by junior Meg Boyer that held into the second period when Snyder connected on a crossbar rebound in the 69
th minute.
Heather Tran picked up her second assist of the season on the play.
Boyer struck again in the 77
th minute – upping the game pressure and setting up the chance for late-game heroics for Snyder. She scored her second strike of the game with just 2:36 to play in regulation to force overtime.
Amanda Douglass was given her second assist of the season for the set up.
The Dutchmen (4-4) held strong through the first overtime but allowed the game winner to senior Allie Chen in the 103
rd minute. Haverford is the first ranked team on the Dutchmen schedule this season, and the match was the first of the year to be pushed into overtime.
By the numbers, the Dutchmen held a 17-10 advantage in shots and a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Becca Sykes played 102 minutes in goal, allowing all three goals. She had to make just one save.
The Dutchmen open conference play at home Saturday, when they'll host Albright at noon.
