ANNVILLE, Pa. –
Cam Alexander set the tone early with a goal 32 seconds into the match and later connected on the game winner for his first multiple goal match of the season, helping Lebanon Valley to a 3-1 win over Eastern Mennonite Wednesday.
LVC (5-1) looked confident from the whistle, and Alexander's first score only bolstered that confidence. The Dutchmen held the lead until the 27
th minute, when Christian Rhine hit on an equalizer.
Alexander's second goal came in the 50
th minute off the body of one of Eastern Mennonite's defenders to give the Dutchmen a 2-1 lead. The goal was Alexander's team-leading third of the season and the first game winner in his college career.
James Clements earned the win in goal – especially on a sharp save inches beneath the cross bar in the 80
th minute that all but deflated Eastern Mennonite (2-3-1). Clements made four saves in 90 minutes in the net.
Octavio Romero gave the team its final piece of insurance when he scored in the 89
th minute. The goal was the first of the season for him.
The Dutchmen play at Moravian Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
