Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. – Cam Alexander has been aggressive up front in his first two games at Lebanon Valley, and the Dutchmen reaped the benefits Saturday as he scored his first collegiate goal to help pull in a 2-0 win over Grove City.
Andrew Cooper put LVC (2-0) on top with a successful penalty kick past goalie Ben Weaver in the ninth minute.
Alexander took five shots – three on goal and one for LVC's second goal in the 48
th minute over Weaver's left shoulder.
Jordann Ferguson picked up his first assist for cleanly finding Alexander in a sea of defenders about 10 feet out of the box.
The Dutchmen outshot the Wolverines 15-10 with
James Clements making seven saves in the net for his first win of the season. The highlight of Clements' day may have been a fully-extended dive to his right that kept a ball out in the 25
th minute.
Clements was aided by strong defense in the field. Grove City's (0-2) Kyle Matherne fired off back-to-back shots in the 33
rd minute that were both blocked by
Kelly Hess.
