Lebanon Valley 14, Misericordia 13

DALLAS, Pa. - A five-goal run in the second half helped Lebanon Valley overcome a halftime deficit and beat Misericordia, 14-13, on Thursday.
The Dutchmen (4-4) trailed 10-7 at the break, but outscored the Cougars (3-6) 7-3 in the second half, including
Mel Modrick's goal with 7:09 left that would hold up as the gamewinner.
Hana Krechel scored six, and
Allison McGinniss,
Christy Wilson, and
Bailey Benz had two each to pace LVC. Emily Foley's hat trick led Misericordia. MU held a 29-26 lead on shots and 18-11 lead on draw controls, but the Dutchmen made the most of their opportunities with just five turnovers and seven goals on 13 shots in the second half.
LVC led 6-5 midway through the first after a pair of Krechel strikes, but the hosts found a 5-0 run to take a commanding 10-6 lead at the 3:21 mark. Krechel scored 1:28 from halftime to cut the lead to 10-7.
The second half opened with a quick free-position goal by Krechel and McGinniss' second before Foley finished her hat trick at 25:33. That would turn out to be Misericordia's last goal for nearly 19 minutes as
Jenny Simensky, Wilson, Benz, Krechel, and Modrick ripped off consecutive goals and
Erica Ameigh made six second-half saves to help LVC take control of the game up 14-11.
MU's Jenny Perucca and Colleen Hunt scored in the closing minutes to try and mount a rally, but Krechel won the final draw control and LVC killed the clock for the win.
Ameigh picked up the win in 40:25 of relief with nine saves; started
Corinne Palombo made five stops in 17:43. Erika Proctor had five saves in the loss.
The Dutchmen return home Saturday to host King's on Kids' Day, starting at 1 p.m.
