SCRANTON, Pa. - Freshman
Bailey Benz scored with 29 seconds remaining to cap a five-goal second-half rally and lift Lebanon Valley over Marywood, 10-9, on Saturday.
The Dutchmen (2-1) trailed the Pacers (3-1) 8-5 midway through the second half, but a 4-1 LVC run tied the game until Benz's gamewinner in the final minute.
Hana Krechel scored five goals with two assists, and Benz and
Christy Wilson had two apiece.
Suzanne Sullivan led the defensive effort with five caused turnovers. Diana D'Achille led Marywood with four goals. The Dutchmen outshot the Pacers 33-27 despite an overwhelming 16-5 draws advantage by the hosts.
LVC had held a 5-2 halftime lead, but Marywood opened the second with six straight goals - including all four of D'Achille's tallies - to go up 8-5 with 21:29 left in the game.

Allison McGinniss six minutes later to cut the lead to 8-7. Krechel tied the game up at the 10-minute mark, then put LVC ahead 9-8 on a free position goal two minutes later.
Marywood's Taylor McKeown re-knotted the game at 9-9 with 5:47 left, and the game appeared headed for overtime as neither team could score in the next five minutes. But with 1:18 to go, Benz caused a turnover on D'Achille and
Mel Modrick came up with the ground ball, leading to Benz's gamewinner with 29 ticks to go. Marywood won the final draw control but never got a shot off.
Both goalies had good games as
Corinne Palombo made 12 saves to earn the win and Leigha Dolcemascolo stopped 16 for Marywood.
LVC will visit Muhlenberg on Wednesday.
