BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Three unanswered goals brought LVC back from a 1-0 deficit to beat Moravian, 3-1, in their ECAC South Tournament quarterfinal match Wednesday.
The Dutchmen (12-7-1) will take on Stevenson Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the semifinal, to be played at host site Swarthmore. The final will be Sunday at 1 p.m.
Moravian went ahead in the 26th minute thanks to Eileen Black's penalty kick, but
Bre Schlemmer leveled it at 1-1 32 seconds before halftime with a tap-in of
Amanda Douglass' cross.
Lindi Crist nearly put LVC ahead six minutes into the second half, hitting the post, but it was Douglass who scored the go-ahead goal on the hour, shaking a defender and shooting upper left.
Heather Tran added an insurance penalty kick goal five minutes later for the final 3-1 scoreline.
LVC led 18-15 on shots while Moravian (10-9-2) was up 4-2 on corners. After
Sami Young had one first-half stop,
Becca Sykes was up to the task in the second half with six stops on eight Greyhound shots. Tori Korona made five saves for the home side.
