Commonwealth Conference Semifinal
#1 Messiah 4, Lebanon Valley 0
GRANTHAM, Pa. - Four first-half goals by #1 Messiah were too much for Lebanon Valley to overcome as the hosts won, 4-0, in the Commonwealth Conference semifinals.
LVC (11-7-1), which lost 3-2 to the Falcons in the regular season, did all it could as Messiah held a slim 12-10 shots advantage, but three goals in the first 13:01 - including a pair by Rachel Scheibeler - sent Messiah (17-1-1) into Sunday's CC final.
Heather Tran remained aggressive for the Dutchmen, taking a team-high five shots.
Stevi Laird took three, and
Nicole Snyder took the last two.
Sami Young played the majority of the match in net, allowing all four goals in the first half.
Becca Sykes took over and played nearly 32 minutes. She didn't allow a goal but never had to make a save.
This is the second consecutive season that Messiah has eliminated LVC from the tournament. Last season, the Dutchmen were eliminated in the finals.
