ECAC Mid-Atlantic Tournament semifinal
Stevens 2, Lebanon Valley 0
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Two second-half goals by Stevens cracked a tough Lebanon Valley defense as the Ducks won, 2-0, in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic semifinals on Saturday.
Stevens (15-7) moves on to Sunday's final against the winner of FDU-Florham, a 2-1 overtime winner against Alvernia. The Dutchmen end their season at 12-9 with the setback. The game was a rematch of last year's ECAC semifinal that LVC had won 4-3.
Chloe Baro had a superb 17-save game for LVC, but late goals by Grace Ridge and Megan Traub - both off penalty corners - gave Stevens the edge.
After LVC held a 14-7 shots advantage in the first half, the Ducks dominated the second period, outshooting the Dutchmen 18-1 for a game total advantage of 25-15.
Kaitlin McClymont made 11 stops for Stevens, which also held a 21-11 penalty corner advantage.
After LVC's defense stymied the Ducks all game long, Ridge broke through at 54:38, slamming Marguerite Chavez's corner injection into the lower left corner. Traub did it again on the same play at 65:27, also from Chavez, to make it 2-0.
