ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley went 2-0 as it hosted the Middle Atlantic Conference Crossover Tournament on Saturday, picking up wins against Delaware Valley and FDU-Florham.
The Dutchmen (12-12) beat Del Val 3-1 (25-16, 25-23, 16-25, 25-23) in the morning match, then cruised by FDU-Florham with a 3-0 (25-9, 25-7, 25-17) win.
In the opening match of the day, LVC defeated a tough Delaware Valley squad 3-1 behind
Kellsie Groff's 14 kills and a superb 51-assist match from
Kacey Musselman. Four Dutchmen had double-digit kills, including
Steph Klunk (12),
Alli Quirk (10), and
Sarah Godfrey (10). LVC hit .287 for the match, led by Klunk's .500 (12-1-22) and Godfrey's .474 (10-1-19).
Musselman led the defense with 16 digs, and
Emily Sides got under 15. Quirk had two solo blocks.
Gina Page led the Aggies (10-7) with an 18-kill, 18-dig match, and Destinee Horning had 14 kills with 16 digs.
In the final match of the day against FDU,
Megan Schoch led the Dutchmen with seven kills, and
Maggi Secrest had five kills on seven swings with no errors (.714).
Kayla Confer also had five kills. Musselman put up 17 assists with seven digs, and
Allie Garrett had nine digs to go with four aces.
LVC hit well again in the afternoon at .290, and Quirk and Confer added solo blocks. FDU struggled at the net with 25 errors. Savannah Hickox led the Devils with four kills.
Lycoming won both neutral matches of the day, dispatching Del Val 3-1 (27-25, 26-24, 22-25, 25-20) in a tight match before easing by FDU-Florham 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-14).
LVC is back to conference play Tuesday night, hosting Albright in the home finale at 7 p.m.
