Lebanon Valley 6, Albright 1
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley's offense had another big game, led by
Cate Cusack's hat trick and a four-point game from
Lauren Brumbach, to beat Albright 6-1 at Arnold Field on Saturday.
The Dutchmen (7-5, 3-1 CC) dominated the game start to finish, outshooting the Lions (7-5, 1-3 CC) 32-7 overall. Cusack scored her second consecutive hat trick with three first-half goals, and Brumbach had a goal and two assists on eight shots.
Kirsten Martzall and
Kelsey Miller added second half goals, and
Caitlin Vasey had a pair of assists to take her career total to 56.
Chloe Baro made three saves to pick up the win;
Cassie Wallen had a stop in 12:29 of relief. Marguerite DeLucas had 15 saves for Albright.
Cusack tipped Cusack's hit just 2:11 into the game to put LVC on top, and Brumbach blasted a corner seven minutes later to double the lead. Cusack then scored two before the end of the half, at 20:24 and 28:30, to finish off her third hat trick of the season and give the Dutchmen a 4-0 lead at the break.
Martzall finished a terrific pass by Cusack at 38:07 to open the second half, but Alyssa Tourdot spoiled the shutout as Allison Dombroski created a superb breakaway chance at 57:15. Miller added the exclamation point at 63:58, deflecting a cross from Brumbach.
The Dutchmen led 16-7 on penalty corners. Their shots lead included an 18-2 advantage in the second half.
LVC visits Hood on Wednesday.
