ANNVILLE, Pa. – Cam Alexander connected on a game-winning overtime goal off a corner from
Stephen Simonian to get Lebanon Valley past Stevenson with a 3-2 win Wednesday.
Alexander's shocker was his second goal of the game. Down 1-0 in the first half, Alexander scored in the 12
th minute on a pass in from
Andrew Cooper. Alexander leads the team with seven total goals after notching his second two-score game of the season.
Octavio Romero scored his second goal of the season in the 14
th minute to give LVC (8-2-1, 1-1) its first lead of the match at 2-1. Romero beat a defender through the box to poke the ball in.
Stevenson (5-7, 0-2) equalized in the second half on a 58
th minute goal by senior Ryan Pierce. Pierce scored unassisted off a free kick.
For Alexander, his second goal was his third game winner of the season. The LVC record for game winners in a season is four. It's shared by three players, including
Andy Suprock, who did it last season.
LVC narrowly led Stevenson in both shots, 17-16, and corner kicks, 4-2.
James Clements made seven saves in goal and played every minute for his seventh win.
The Dutchmen play at Alvernia Saturday at 4 p.m.
