Lebanon Valley 8, Widener 2

CHESTER, Pa. - Five unanswered goals in the second half - led by Cate Cusack's second four-goal game of the season - helped Lebanon Valley rout Widener 8-2 on Tuesday.

The Dutchmen (6-5, 2-1 CC) led 3-2 at the half, but scored five times on nine second-half shots to put away the Pride (2-8, 0-2 CC).

Cusack scored LVC's first four goals, including all three in the first half, to take her season total to 10. Lauren Mowery scored twice in the final seven minutes for her first career goals, and Mandi Albright and Bridget Monighan added second-half strikes.

Lauren Brumbach had two assists and Caitlin Vasey extended her program record with her 54th career helper to move into a tie for 11th all-time in NCAA Division III history.

Cusack scored in the 15th and 21st minutes to put LVC up 2-0, with the latter assisted by Laura James, but quick strikes from Widener's Nicole Nardone and Meghan Garvery tied it at 2-2 in the 28th minute. Cusack gave the Dutchme the lead back just before the half with her third, then extended the lead with her fourth in the 54th minute off Brumbach's helper.

Brumbach set up Albright's goal less than two minutes later, and Monighan converted a penalty stroke in the 59th minute to all but put the game away. Mowery scored from Vasey in the 64th minute for her first career goal, then added a second five minutes later to cap the scoring outburst.

LVC led 18-10 on shots and 9-4 on penalty corners. Chloe Baro made five saves to earn the win.

LVC returns home to face Albright on Saturday at 1 p.m.
