ONEONTA, N.Y. – Lebanon Valley had a successful first day at the Hartwick/Holiday Inn Invitational at Hartwick College Friday night with wins over SUNY Plattsburgh and Utica.
 
The Dutchmen (15-12) topped Plattsburgh in three close sets and Utica in four, gaining momentum as the match wore on.

Kellsie Groff led the attack against Plattsburgh with 12 kills. Alli Quirk finished with 10 and Megan Schoch with seven. Allie Garrett led the defensive effort with 16 digs, followed by Groff and Kacey Musselman who notched eight each.
 
Quirk led the second match with 11 kills, followed by Kayla Confer with 10 and Groff with seven. The Dutchmen got strong service from Musselman and Groff, who led with three aces each. Quirk and Emily Sides also had two aces each. Maggi Secrest was 4 for 11 hitting. Sides had an especially strong showing with six kills in set four.
 
Garrett and Musselman continued to dominate on defense with 20 digs each.
 
The Dutchmen draw Keuka and Hartwick in Saturday's action.
