FREDERICK, Md. - Lebanon Valley's run of form continued as
Kirsten Martzall's hat trick led to a 9-2 win at Hood on Wednesday.
The Dutchmen (8-5, 4-1 CC) dominated from start to the finish, holding the Blazers (2-9) without a shot for nearly 65 minutes while building a 9-0 lead. LVC continued its hot offensive form, averaging 5.3 goals per game as it's gone 6-1 over the last seven games.
Martzall notched a hat trick off the bench and 10 other Dutchmen recorded a point led by a goal and assist each from
Lauren Brumbach and
Bridget Monighan. LVC led 34-3 on shots, including 17-0 in the first half, and 12-3 on penalty corners.
Megan Harris kicked off the scoring from
Nicole Vasiliu seven minutes in, and
Melissa Brosious scored her first career goal at 24:12 to double the lead. The Dutchmen struck two quick goals before halftime as Monighan and
Cate Cusack found the cage just over a minute apart before the break.
Martzall ran off all three of her goals consecutively to start the second half, assisted by
Caitlin Vasey, Cusack, and Brumbach; Brumbach added her goal at 50:35 before
Lauren Mowery finished the rout from
Lyndee Sheaffer at 55:57.
Hood's two goals came late in the game as LVC cleared its bench, with Anna Kate Smith and Morgan Cole scoring for the Blazers.
Chloe Baro did not have to make a save in 50:35 of play;
Cassie Wallen played 19:25 of relief. Ying Van Schaik took the loss with eight saves, and the Blazers made an exceptional six defensive saves led by Michelle Buhrman's four.
LVC returns home Saturday to host Stevenson on Oktoberfest Saturday, starting at 6 p.m. at Arnold Field.
