Lebanon Valley 41, Franklin & Marshall 48
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley never held a lead in Monday night's 48-41 loss to Franklin & Marshall, but with less than six minutes, they were able to cut the deficit to six points.
Eryn Schultz nailed a three pointer with 5:54 on the clock, the first basket any player had scored in nearly three minutes, to bring the score to 44-38.
The Dutchmen (10-2) trailed the Diplomats (8-2) by as many as 11 points in the second half and 14 in the game. Bach and Schultz teamed to cut that 11 point hole to six and spark some hope, but baskets were hard to come by.
LVC shot just 28 percent (14-for-50) over the game and under 26 percent in the second half. They had chances after the break, as the Diplomats slowed from nearly 44 percent in the first half to just 28.6 percent in the second.
Tierney Hiltz led LVC scorers with 15 points, finishing 6-for-14 on the night. Bach scored eight but played just 13 total minutes.
Caitlin Murphy was a standout for the Dutchmen defense with a team-high eight rebounds and two blocks.
The team combined for five blocks and 10 steals. They outrebounded F&M 43-36, too, but couldn't piece together a rally substantial enough to take the game over.
LVC plays at Immaculata Thursday night at 7 p.m. in its final nonconference game of the regular season.
