ANNVILLE, Pa. – After outshooting Wilkes 15-5, Lebanon Valley was beaten 3-2 on an 89
th minute goal by the Colonels' Nicholas Patricia.
The Dutchmen (6-2) climbed back from a 2-0 deficit late in the second half on goals by
Kelly Hess and
Brendan Steele.
Hess netted a pass from
Andy Suprock in the 82
nd minute to put LVC on the board. Steele scored on a lay from
Kyle Fronk three minutes later to put the Dutchmen in position to see their fifth overtime appearance of the season.
But Patricia's goal sealed the win for the Colonels (3-3). His was preceded by goals from Tyler Young and Jim Moran. Patricia gained an assist on Young's shot in the 44
th minute of the game.
Hess' goal was his first of the season, while Steele's was his second. Both Suprock and Fronk picked up their first assists.
The Dutchmen got eight shots off in the second half but just one in the final 25 minutes.
The Colonels scored on two of three shots on goal in the second half. LVC goalkeeper
James Clements recorded his only save on the third.
LVC plays at DeSales Monday at 4 p.m.
