GETTYSBURG, Pa.
- A pair of second-half goals by Nicole Snyder helped Lebanon Valley College overcome a 1-0 deficit to beat Gettysburg College, 2-1, in the 2011 season opener on Friday night.

Snyder scored twice in a five-minute span early in the second half to lift the Dutchmen (1-0) in the opening game of the two-day Gettysburg Tournament.

The Bullets (0-1) went ahead in the 24th minute on a Tobi Goss goal, carrying the 1-0 lead into the break. Snyder then equalized in the 52nd minute, picking the ball off a defender and lifting a shot over goalkeeper Allie Rivera, and she put LVC ahead five minutes later when she got loose to convert a long forward ball from Ines Antensteiner.

The game was tight end-to-end, with LVC holding a slim 13-12 shots advantage and Gettysburg leading 7-1 on corners. Sami Young earned the win with three saves, while Rivera also stopped three.

LVC will play John Carroll in the tournament's second game on Saturday at 4 p.m.
