SCRANTON, Pa. - A 69th-minute gamewinner by Scranton's Sydney Parker broke a 2-2 tie and dealt Lebanon Valley its first loss of the season, 3-2, on Saturday.
The Dutchmen (2-1) had a pair of goals from
Stevi Laird, who scored them four minutes apart early in the first half.
The Royals (3-0) struck quickly with Rebecca Hextall's sixth-minute goal, but Laird leveled it in the ninth minute on a header from
Sara Drabenstadt's cross, then put LVC ahead from the spot with a penalty kick in the 13th minute.
Scranton equalized on Christina Cognetti's goal in the 32nd minute, and the score stayed 2-2 until after halftime, when Parker scored the gamewinner in the 69th minute.
Scranton held leads in shots (14-7) and corners (10-4).
Sami Young made five saves for LVC, with Kelsey McAnelly making three saves for Scranton.
LVC will play at Marywood on Sunday.
