TOWSON, Md. - Hana Krechel and Lindsey Buckman each scored four goals, but Lebanon Valley couldn't catch up to a quick-starting Goucher team as it fell, 17-12, in non-league play on Saturday.

The Dutchmen (0-2) had five different goal scorers, but Goucher (3-2) received seven goals from Hannah Khin and a hat trick by Mary Lambert as they used an early 6-0 run to take control of the game.

Krechel grabbed seven draw controls and also had an assist to go with her goal haul. Allison McGinniss found the net twice, and Suzanne Sullivan and Christy Wilson also scored. Taylor Kruter added an assist for her first career point.

Buckman opened the scoring in the first minute when she converted an eight-meter shot, but Goucher scored six unanswered to take an early lead. Buckman and Krechel cut the lead to 6-3, but Khin struck twice in a 50-second span to put the Gophers firmly in control on the way to an 11-5 halftime lead.

Krechel opened the second half with a goal, but Goucher answered with five straight to take a 16-6 lead. LVC outscored the Gophers 6-1 over the final 15:00 of the half, but were unable to make up the deficit.

Goucher held a 34-22 shots advantage, including 22-7 in the first half. LVC led on draw controls (16 to 15) and converted 12-of-16 clears to Goucher's 15-of-21.

Erica Ameigh made the start in goal, stopping six in a half of work. Corinne Palombo made five saves in the second half. Ashley Shaner got the win for Goucher with seven saves.

LVC will return to MAC play at Eastern on March 16.
