READING, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley men's soccer team got a goal out of Conner McAuliffe, but it wasn't enough to keep them in the playoffs. The third-seeded Dutchmen were eliminated by Alvernia in a 2-1 overtime loss in Reading Thursday night.

McAuliffe was the first to score, recovering a ball off a saved shot from Kelly Hess. Hess put a long header into the box, where it was misplayed by the goalkeeper and Andrew Cooper caused the ball to fall loose at McAuliffe's feet for the finish. The goal was his second of the season and came 1:57 into the second half.

Eric Franks took a long shot from the far left off a pass from David McEwen in the 56th minute to tie the game at 1-1. Later, in the 86th minute, teams were reduced to 10 versus 10 on concurrent red cards, with LVC's Eric Woods and Alvernia's Domenic Montone being sent off.

That carried over into overtime, where Franks returned the favor and set up McEwen for the game-winning header in the 94th minute.

The Dutchmen were outshot 15-8 and took just one shot in the second half and one in overtime. Cooper led the team with three shots on the night.

James Clements played the entire game and made seven saves for LVC.
