ASTON, Pa. - Lebanon Valley won the Knights Fall Fever Quad at Neumann University on Saturday, taking a pair of 3-0 wins over Frostburg State and Bridgewater.
The Dutchmen (15-5) had to come back in sets 1 and 3 against Frostburg to win 27-25, 25-22, 25-22, then controlled the entire Bridgewater match to win 25-16, 25-13, 25-17. LVC had beaten Neumann on Friday night.
Against Frostburg, LVC fell behind in the first set and didn't catch up until 22-22, taking the set to extra points to win 27-25. After winning the second set 25-22, LVC again fell back in the third before catching Frostburg at 18-18, and
Jamie Hawk helped close the match out with seven of her 13 kills coming in the third set.
Sarah Godfrey had a big match at outside hitter, generating 11 kills on 22 swings with just two errors, and
Ally Stengel and
Steph Klunk each threw down six kills.
Angela Kuperavage led the defense with 22 digs, and
Jess Finlayson added 11.
Against Bridgewater, it was all LVC as they hit .320 for the match led by
Nicole Barra's 13 kills. Hawk and
Kayla Confer had nine kills each and
Kellsie Groff added seven. The Dutchmen had a good serving match, with Groff putting over three aces and Kuperavage and Hawk with two apiece.
Kacey Musselman led LVC with seven digs.
LVC will return to conference play at Albright on Wednesday.
