Lebanon Valley 3, Neumann 1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-14)
ASTON, Pa. - Lebanon Valley overcame a slow start to beat host Neumann, 3-1, on the opening night of the Knights Fall Fever Quad on Friday.
The Dutchmen (13-5) got stronger as the match went on and benefited from balanced hitting, led by 17 kills from
Kayla Confer and a 13-kill, .540 hitting night from
Jamie Hawk.
After dropping an error-filled first set 25-22 to the Knights (12-7), LVC adjusted and had little trouble winning the last three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-20, and 25-14.
Confer finished with 17 kills and a solo block, while Hawk added two assist blocks and two aces to her kill total.
Nicole Barra had 12 kills, and
Kellsie Groff had a double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs to go with two aces.
Angela Kuperavage led the defensive effort with 19 digs.
LVC will play a pair of matches at Neumann on Saturday, starting with Frostburg State at 11 a.m. before playing Bridgewater at 2:30 p.m.
