ANNVILLE, Pa. - The men's soccer team (9-7, 2-3 CC) fell behind Arcadia (8-6-1, 3-1-1) 2-0 early on and were unable to recover Wednesday night.
Ethan Armstrong and Zachary Todd both scored within the first 20 minutes of the game for the Knights.
The Dutchmen took 15 shots--six on goal--over the course of the game. They outshot the Knights 15-12.
Kelly Hess and
Kevin Doty each took four shots for the Dutchmen. Three of Hess' tries were stopped by Arcadia goalkeeper Ryan Lantzy.
Weather was a factor in the day's game. The Dutchmen kicked into heavy winds and drizzle over the first half before switching goals.
James Clements was able to make some majestic punts in the second half with friendlier gusts, and the Dutchmen maintained steady control of the ball.
They were unable to score on eight second-half shots. The Knights managed just four shots in the half.
Clements made three saves for LVC while falling to 9-6 on the season.
