Lebanon Valley 4, Kutztown 3
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – A late goal in the third period sent Lebanon Valley ice hockey to a 4-3 win over Kutztown Saturday evening. The win was the fourth straight for the Dutchmen.
It didn't take long for the Dutchmen to strike as
Kyle Stewardson scored just 45 seconds into the game after a pass from
Jimmy Black. Kutztown responded and the score was tied 1-1 at the end of the first period.
Lebanon Valley regained the lead on a goal from
Nick Averona with assists to
Shaun Stamm and
Corey Conte in the second period. The Golden Bears again fought back, scoring a short handed goal to tie it at two.
Kutztown took the lead for the first time in the third period with a power play tally. Three minute later, Lebanon Valley tied it at three with a goal from
Brad Surdam. Stewardson and Matthew Conroy assisted on the goal.
Conroy played the hero, scoring the game winner late in the third period off a great feed from
Ryan Sindt.
Rich Drazin made his third straight start, registering 23 saves for the victory.
The Dutchmen return to action at 3 p.m. Sunday when they host Rochester Institute of Technology.
