ANNVILLE, Pa. - Misericordia's Laura Roney netted the double-overtime gamewinner to top a frustrated Lebanon Valley squad, 2-1, in women's soccer play on Wednesday.
The Dutchmen (1-2-1) held a 16-5 shots advantage, including 4-1 in overtime, but found just one goal on 
Ely Kirkhoff's goal in the 64th minute.
LVC controlled virtually the entire first half, but the Cougars (3-0) went ahead when Roney found Kim Suchoski in space in the 13th minute.
Kirkhoff equalized from 15 yards out, just after the hour thanks to 
Stevi Laird's pass, sending the game into overtime.
LVC had one shot in the first overtime and three in the second, but it was Roney who brokeaway and found the net from Suchoski's through ball with 5:11 left in the game.
Morgan Myers made four saves to pick up the win for MU; 
Sami Young stopped two for LVC. 
Nicole Snyder, Laird, and Kirkhoff each had a game-high four shots.
In addition to a 16-5 shot advantage, LVC led 7-1 on corners.
LVC stays home Saturday for Kids' Day against the University of Scranton. All kids in attendance will receive a free hot dog.
