ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley volleyball posted its fifth win of the season, downing Moravian in straight sets (25-20, 25-19, 25-20) Wednesday evening at LVC Gymnasium. The win was the 25th straight home match won, dating back to the beginning of the 2008 season.
Senior
Michelle Little and
Joelle Snyder led the attack, posting 10 kills each. Six other players posted at least one kill for Lebanon Valley.
On the defense, the Dutchmen totaled 72 digs. Junior
Angela Kuperavage had a team-high 16 digs, while seniors
Emily Perkins and
Jess Raber posted 13 each, and Little added 11 digs.
Perkins continued to be strong in the setter position with 35 assists in the match.
The Dutchmen racked up five blocks, including a solo block from junior
Jamie Hawk. Snyder added two block assists.
LVC is currently 5-0 on the season, matching the third-longest win streak to begin a season, tying the 2001 team's start. The 1995 squad holds the second-longest streak after a 9-0 start, while last season's team set the program record with 10-straight victories to begin the season.
The Dutchmen travel to the Dickinson Invitational on Friday. LVC opens with a match against the host Red Devils at 2 p.m., followed by York (Pa.) at 7 p.m.
