ANNVILLE, Pa. – DeSales used an early goal and added one before halftime to cruise to a 4-0 win over Lebanon Valley in the season opener at Herbert Field Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore
James Clements made a season-high five saves in the loss, while junior
Chris Hall had a team-high two shots on goal.
The Bulldogs reached the scoreboard early off a goal into the top corner by Derek Long at 5:46. Josh Himes added another with a header at 44:22 to take a 2-0 lead into the half.
Lebanon Valley posted 11 shots in the first, with DeSales goalie Adam Franczak making six saves.
DeSales continued to roll in the second half with Long scoring his second of the game at 51:55 followed by a tally from Steve Krause.
The Dutchmen added eight shots in the second half and DeSales made two stops. Both teams had eight corner kicks in the game.
LVC returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Dickinson at 3 p.m. The game is also Kid's Day at Herbert Field with all kids in attendance receiving a free hot dog.
