Ely Kirkhoff played the heroine, scoring an unassisted goal with 35 seconds remaining in regulation to give Lebanon Valley the 1-0 win over Haverford Wednesday evening. Freshman
Becca Sykes made her second start in goal for the Dutchmen, recording five saves in her second win of the season.
The teams were evenly matched in the first half with Haverford recording six shots and LVC posting five. Sykes was busy in the opening frame, making four of her five saves. Haverford (4-2) held the advantage in the second half, posting five shots.
The last-minute win was a measure of revenge for the Dutchmen, who lost to Haverford on a goal with five seconds left in regulation last year at Herbert Field.
Lebanon Valley (4-4-1) finished with eight shots, including three from sophomore
Nicole Snyder, while Haverford totaled 11 shots. The Fords had six corner kicks to the Dutchmen's two.
The Dutchmen travel to St. David's, Pa., on Saturday for a noon game against Eastern.
