Chris Hall led Lebanon Valley to a 4-0 win over Eastern Mennonite on Wednesday afternoon at Herbert Field, snapping a two game losing streak. Senior
Justin Hutchinson tallied two assists and sophomore
James Clements recorded the win in goal, making three saves for the Dutchmen.
Hall started the scoring at 20:30 with a breakaway tally after a left side pass by sophomore
Andrew Cooper. Both teams were limited in shots in the first half with Lebanon Valley recording four to Eastern Mennonite's three.
Lebanon Valley dominated the game in the second half, scoring three goals. Hall scored his second of the game at 46:04 off a one timer in the slot. Hutchinson set up the play after streaking down the right side and passing the ball to the middle.
Cooper scored his second goal of the season just over five minutes later. Senior
George Andriko's kick to the front of the goal was deflected and touched by Cooper before crossing the line. Rounding out the scoring was Hall's fourth of the season from Hutchinson off another set up from the right side.
Eastern Mennonite notched seven shots in the second half but the LVC defense stayed strong.
Lebanon Valley finished the game with 12 shots, while Eastern Mennonite tallied 10 total shots. The Dutchmen held the advantage in corner kicks with four to the Royals one.
Freshman Josh Lineweaver played the final 23:10 of the second half for LVC, making two saves.
Hall's hat trick marked the second by a Dutchmen this season and was the third in his career. Sophomore
Andy Suprock tallied his first collegiate hat trick in the opening game of the 2010 season on September 3 against Greensboro.
Lebanon Valley travels to Moravian on Saturday for a 12:30 p.m. game.
